a year ago, quentin had this on his back.

now he has this.

pretty stoked to have things wrapped up on this one, i believe that’s now 3 full-size completed backpieces for me. i’m all grown up.

also, quentin is a frickin’ BADASS, doing multiple two-day, back-to-back sittings on this. i wish i was tough.

  3. Coming in soon and/or showing you healed pic of Waits. I canNOT thank you enough, seriously. I was so scared to get a portrait, but this tattoo…oh my god. You are an artiste extraordinaire. I will never again be tattooed by another, Ryan.

Do not just blame the booze; I mean every word, dammit. :D

  4. Hey man just needed to comment I’ve been following your work over the past 2-3 years and I’m absolutely in LOVE with your work. If youre ever coming to Canada, the Montreal convention I’d LOVE to get a heads up, I NEED a piece done by you.

  5. That little baby bunny is adorable!

  6. Your work is amazing! just beautiful..

ps- the pic of the hippo and the tortoise is actually a really amazing story. The baby hippo was rescued after the tsunami and ‘raised’ in a preserve by the 130 year old tortoise. They were inseparable for years. Their names are Owen and Mzee.. check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_and_Mzee

    1. oh, i know the owen/mzee story. it’s pretty much my favorite thing to ever happen on the planet.

  7. Amazing work! I’m a big fan. If you ever come to the east coast please let me know, I’d love to get a piece done by you.

  8. This is AMAZINGSAUCE.

So how willing are you to collaborate with an illustrator on their own tattoo? I understand your style is *your style* and that’s what a person is paying for but do you ever work with someone on their own illustration and adapt it? I’m trying to imagine whether that’d be more difficult in a way, or easier for you as a tattoo artist.
